Let's make Korean pancake :D Korean cuisine uses a wide variety of vegetables, which are often served uncooked, either in salads or pickles, as well as cooked in various stews, stir-fried dishes, and other hot dishes. Cabbage (배추) Napa cabbage is the main ingredient of Kimchi. They are long and leafy and slightly sweet. Their peak season is late fall, although they are available throughout the year in Korean grocery stores. but that season of Napa cabbage is the best ! Garilic(마늘) Garlic is one of the most important ingredients in Korean cuisine. koreans used garlic to make soups or stews. Also Koreans enjoy pickled garlic as a side dish and grilled garlic with Korean BBQ and table cooking. Leek(대파) We use leek as a garnish, also to make soup or stews as well. Perilla leaf(깻잎) My best favorite one is Perilla leaf! :) Koreans love this so much, same as garlic. we can eat this as a side dish and salad with Korean BBQ and table cooking too. Before we start to cook korean cuisine
I want to know you guys basic pantries of korean cooking. here are the items below :) Korean chili powder/Hot pepper flakes (Gochugaru: 고추가루) Most Korean spiciness comes from this. It’s called Gochugaru. It is essentially made with dried Korean red chilies. It mainly comes in two different types fine and coarse. Soy sauce (Ganjang: 간장) Many asian countries use soy sauce but the taste is quite different country to country. In Korea they normally uses 2types of soy sauce "Guk Ganjang" ("soy sauce for soup") and Whe-Ganjang (regular soy sauce) and Joseon Ganjang. Joseon Ganjang is more saltier than common soy sauce, so smaller amounts should be used. Sesame oil (Chamgireum: 참기름) Sesame oil is used in many Korean side dishes, marinade korean bbq, soups etc Soybean paste (Doenjang: 된장) it is very similar Japanese miso paste. It is made with fermented soybeans over a period of time. It has natural pungent smell and flavour. Soybean paste can be used by making soup as basic ingredients. Korean spicy dipping sauce (Ssamjang: 쌈장) Ssamjang is most commonly served with grilled Korean BBQ. It can be easily made at home using soybean paste, chili paste, garlic, onion, sesame oil by mixing. |
